The ST4015A Stereo Pair with 4015A Wide Cardioid Microphones from DPA is a stereo kit that consists of two matched 4015A Wide Cardioid Microphones, two microphone holders, two windscreens, and a Peli Carrying Case. The microphones are matched within ±1 dB on both frequency response and sensitivity for accurate and matched sonic reproduction. Their wide cardioid pattern is designed to provide a broad angle of pick up while still remaining directional, and allows the 4015As to be used with sources such as piano, guitar, marimba, percussion, and orchestral sections.
Main Benefits
- Matched Pair of 4015A Mics
- Selected on Sensitivity Between +/- 1dB
- Wide Cardioid Pattern and natural sound
- Piano, Guitar, Percussion, Orchestras
- Includes 2 Mic Holders & Windscreens
- Ambiance pickup with some directionality
- Peli Case transportation and protection
Description
The wide and versatile d:dicate™ Microphone series is legendary in the high-end recording and film production industry. Delivering clean, accurate sound, the mics in this series are used by professionals, who understand sound and insist on only using the best.
4015 Wide Cardioid Stereo Pair
A complete Stereo Pair with two carefully factory-matched d:dicate™ 4015 Wide Cardioid Microphones. Even though the standard tolerances on d:dicate™ series are extremely low, a stereo match is even closer. These mics are matched within ±1 dB on both frequency response and sensitivity. The pair comes with two 4015 mics, clips and windscreens in a Peli™ Case.
The d:dicate™ 4015 Wide Cardioid Microphone The off-axis characteristics of the MMC4015 Wide Cardioid Microphone Capsule are totally linear, a unique quality when it comes to authentic sound reproduction. Any leakage that occurs from off-axis sound sources is still a faithful reproduction of these sounds, just softly attenuated.
Sometimes a conventional cardioid pattern just isn’t quite open enough. Recording orchestras or other ensembles sometimes requires a compromise between blending in the room reverberation and a more precise localization. When recording instruments with complex radiation patterns, the wide cardioid (also known as hemispheric) design covers a greater sound angle and is an excellent choice. This is the often ideal mic for recording grand piano, guitar, marimba, and percussion, or as a spot mic for groups in a symphony orchestra. Likewise, it is an excellent speech, dubbing, or vocal mic as its enhanced richness on the bass end nicely compliments many voices.
ST4015A Stereo Pair
Our wide cardioid microphones are capable of handling extremely high sound pressure levels before clipping occurs. The d:dicate™ 4015A Wide Cardioid Microphone even includes a 20 dB pad switch in the center of the XLR connector to prevent overloading of the mic amplifier.
The foam design in the heavy-duty transportation box allows for fast and easy exchange of the microphone/accessory inlays.
